This photograph shows the Queen and her Lady-in-Waiting chatting during a walkabout with guests at the Victorian Order of Nurses' special Victorian Tea fundraiser which recognized the twentieth anniversary of Volunteer services in Peel region. The event took place 10 June 2001 on the grounds of the Adamson Estate, Port Credit, Ontario. Tickets to this event cost $18.37 (the date Queen Victoria's reign began).
The Queen has a history of helping those less fortunate than herself and therefore it gives her great pleasure to attend events for charity.
